SEYI (www.seyiamerica.com) has introduced its latest range of single point and double point servo presses that were offered from 88 tons to 440 tons. Specifically designed for servo stamping applications, the new servo presses were fitted with state-of-the-art control technology and direct drive servo motor, which provides three times more torque than other servo motor available in the market today.
The direct drive technology eliminates belts, down-gearing and unnecessary linkages, while offering the shortest distance of transmission to maximize torque distribution. The servo presses feature Point-On-Demand (P.O.D.) controller with eight preset stroke profiles such as multiple hits in one stroke, pendulum strokes, free-hand programmability and extended dwell time. SEYI eliminates the issue of power surges and higher power requirements through its innovative energy-saving storage system.
The ribbed frame construction of the servos effectively reduces deflection and provides more rigidity, particularly during longer dwells. With the hydraulic overload replaced with a programmable electronic overload, the servos offer more stable protection when operating closer to rated tonnage for longer periods.
SEYI’s servo presses seamlessly combined the advantages of the programmable slide of hydraulic press with mechanical press speed. This provides manufacturers greater control in speed, tonnage and dwell at any stage of the entire stroke, allowing them to better utilize exotic materials, form more complicated geometric parts, and eliminate various secondary operations. The dwell profiles enable stampers to prevent materials from springing back and produce higher quality parts.
Programming slow ram velocity during the single stroke’s working portion, and fast ram speeds at die-opening and die-closing segments generates increased production rates while lowering reverse load, vibration and stamping noise, and prolonging die maintenance cycle.
