Fall River, Mass. – Maxon’s EC16 brushless DC servo gearmotor has had a number of modifications and improvements. The most obvious changes are the 60° winding pattern, the NdFeB high performance magnet and the higher power output. Plus, the shortened motor type’s sterilizable version.
The new EC 16 is available with up to five winding types as well as with hall sensors or sensorless. Four high-power motors are available; 30W or 60W and sterilizable or non-sterilizable.
The new design features a torque/speed gradient reduced by approximately 60% and maximum continuous torque increased approximately by 80%. Other key improvements include higher stability, quiet running, larger bearings, higher forces, improved performance and higher torque. Coupled with gearheads that are also sterilizable, this drive is ideally suited for the most demanding medical and hand tool applications.
